While it is true that many stores are closing their physical locations to focus on online selling, many other retailers are actively expanding their offline presence. With mixed messages and horror stories coming from so many channels, it can be difficult to discern what the future of retail will hold. This high-level session will cut through the noise and delve into:
-Expanding your existing customer base and market share in today’s retail market
-Evaluating expansion opportunities across channels and choosing the right kind of growth for your brand
-Developing store concepts and experiences that promote growth in both your consumer base and brand engagement
-Understanding why other retailers are closing to avoid hitting the same stumbling blocks with your brand

Understanding when to grow and when to say no by understanding both your own brand’s needs and the state of the retail industry

95% of Americans are now carrying smartphones, almost all of which are equipped with high resolution cameras and can be logged into several social media sharing platforms at once. As such, stores are no longer just places to shop, but also venues for capturing and sharing brand experiences. This session will explore techniques for capitalizing on this opportunity, including:
- Curating store fixtures, signage, product assortments and layouts to encourage photography
- Creating a taggable electronic location, establishing hashtags, and providing free and fast wifi
- Designing ‘wow’ moments through technology, events, visual effects and unique experiences

-Outlining the relevant KPI’s for measuring the success of experience centers
-Specifying the features that are most important to include in these spaces
-Exploring the long-term value of providing immersive, hands-on brand experiences

This interactive session will explore ways to make your retail stores more sustainable and environmentally friendly to avoid alienating a key shopper demographic. Takeaways include:
-Investigating the impact on the environment and community that the establishment of your retail store will have.
-Incorporating smart lighting and motion-activated features in your stores to avoid wasting energy
-Allowing customers to return or reuse store packaging and materials for monetary discounts
-Utilizing external agencies such as LEED to ascertain the ways in which your organization is and is not meeting sustainability criteria

This free standing building has two exterior layers: the interior glazed "box" of the store, and the exterior, a claustrum of white metal tubes reminiscent of vibrations. Together, they give the impression of a building without scale. The iconic Hermès horseman is perched on a corner of the roof. Inside, a staircase designed to resemble the Hermes balduc ribbon connects the three stories of the boutique. A dynamic mixture of flooring finishes, stone and wood, create a feeling of comfort and timelessness.
