Prior to Ovenly, Agatha's career centered on mental health and addictions research and education and community programming. As an entrepreneur, Agatha has brought this passion for social impact into business, building a dynamic company committed to radically responsible business practices that include employing political refugees and returning citizens, reducing landfill-bound waste, and providing skills training and wealth-building opportunities for employees. Agatha has been recognized as one of New York’s most “badass” leaders in food by Thrillist and her work and business have been repeatedly recognized in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, New York Magazine, and Food52. Ovenly: Sweet & Salty Recipes from New York’s Most Creative Bakery, which she co-authored, was named best book of the season by Bon Appetit and as one of top 100 books of 2014 by National Public Radio. Agatha also mentors and consults with young entrepreneurs, is an Advisory Board Member for Women in Hospitality United and is currently working on her second cookbook.
